Stellantis Group is considering the option to replace Citroen Racing with Lancia in WRC2 class from 2026.
Lancia and Citroen are two car brands from Stellantis Group. Lancia announced a week ago that it will be involved to WRC2 class with the Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale which means that it will compete against the Citroen C3 Rally2. Instead of that, Stellantis is thinking of competing only with Lancia in WRC2 class which means that Citroen Racing will be replaced by the Italian car brand. Moreover, it must be mentioned that Stellantis withdrew Maserati from Formula E and replaced it with Citroen which will compete in that sport from 2026.
"I am pretty sure that some good drivers will continue to have their own program with the C3", Stellantis head of customer rallying Didier Clément said.
"We continue to sell parts to support technically this Citroën program and in fact the life of the C3 will continue.
"Of course the support for official drivers like Yohan for example will swap to Lancia, but we definitely continue to technically support the C3.
"It’s not the end of the life of the C3 at all".
