Toyota Gazoo Racing has confirmed that Sébastien Ogier and Julien Ingrassia are both in stable condition after the crew's dramatic crash during Rally Finland.
The accident occurred during Saturday's competition while the French pairing was pushing at the front of the field. Their rally came to an immediate end after the car left the road in a high-speed section, triggering a rapid response from event officials and medical personnel.
Following initial checks at the scene, Ogier and Ingrassia were transported to hospital as a precaution. Toyota later announced that both were conscious throughout the process and that the decision to carry out further examinations was made in line with standard medical procedures after a significant impact.
The retirement proved to be a major turning point in the rally, ending Ogier's hopes of adding another Rally Finland victory to his record. It also reshaped the overall classification, opening the door for his rivals in the closing stages of the event.
While the incident was one of the most serious moments of the weekend, it also highlighted the strength of the FIA's modern safety regulations and the protection offered by the latest Rally1 cars.
