Fourmaux behind the wheel of Hyundai i20N Rally2 in Finland after Meeke and Paddon

Adrien Fourmaux has taken his turn behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 in Finland, becoming the latest driver to participate in the testing programme following Kris Meeke and Hayden Paddon.

The presence of Fourmaux in Finland adds particular interest to the programme, with the French driver getting the opportunity to put the Hyundai through its paces on roads renowned for their fast sections, blind crests and flowing corners. These characteristics demand a precise balance between speed, stability and confidence, making Finland one of the most valuable locations for assessing a rally car's performance on gravel.

The testing sequence began with Kris Meeke before Hayden Paddon also took to the Finnish stages. Fourmaux subsequently joined the programme, bringing his own driving style and experience to the evaluation of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2.

Each driver offers a different perspective behind the wheel, which can be particularly useful when assessing a car's overall behaviour. From suspension response over rough surfaces to traction on loose gravel and stability through high-speed direction changes, the Finnish roads provide plenty of opportunities to examine the car in demanding conditions.

For Fourmaux, the session represented an opportunity to experience the Rally2 machine on terrain where maintaining momentum is crucial. Finland's distinctive roads leave little room for hesitation, with drivers required to commit to corners and crests while keeping the car settled over constantly changing surfaces.

Although the exact objectives of the test and the technical details of the car's configuration have not been fully disclosed, the involvement of three experienced drivers has attracted attention. The consecutive outings of Meeke, Paddon and Fourmaux make the Finnish programme particularly noteworthy, even as its wider purpose remains unclear.

For now, the focus remains on Fourmaux's appearance behind the wheel of the Hyundai i20 N Rally2 and the opportunity to evaluate the car on one of the most demanding types of rally terrain. Whether the test will lead to further outings or additional developments remains to be seen.
