Official: Sweden remains in WRC calendar for two more years

The organizers of Rally Sweden have announced today that their event will remain in WRC calendar until 2024 and Umea will be the host city.

Rally Sweden of 2022 just finished with Kalle Rovanpera being the winner and this year's version was a proper one with a lot of snow in comparison with previous ones.

Sweden did not host the last year's winter round of World Rally Championship and the organizers were searching for a proper location to host their national event as there was lack of snow in 2019 and in 2020.

Therefore, they decided to move Rally Sweden more northern than before and they chose Umea as the center of their rally.

The announcement happened in the post-event press conference.
