Rally Japan - 1st Day: Rovanpera has a slim lead over Tanak, Evans 6th

At the end of Thursday, Kalle Rovanpera sets an early pace at Rally Japan with Ott Tanak and Takamoto Katsuta following him.

Kalle Rovanpera holds a tiny lead over Ott Tanak as he was faster than the last one for only one tenth of a second.

Takamoto Katsuta does the 1-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing and left Sebastien Ogier behind for 0,1 seconds.

Sami Pajari completes the top five and is five tenths of a second off the lead.

Elfyn Evans and Adrien Fourmaux set an identical time in Stage 1, but the championship leader was faster than Fourmaux for some thousandths of a second, so he is in sixth place overall.

Thierry Neuville, Gregoire Munster, Oliver Solberg and Josh McErlean complete the top 11.
