Ypres Rally Belgium - 1st Day - 2nd Loop: Neuville extends his lead over Breen



At the end of the second loop of first day of Ypres Rally Belgium, Thierry Neuville remains in the top of overall classification with Craig Breen and Ott Tanak following.


Thierry Neuville is leading Ypres Rally Belgium after Stage 7 setting the fastest times in SS5, SS6 and SS7.


Craig Breen comes right behind and he was slower than his teammate in these three stages with their gap being at 7,6 seconds.


Ott Tanak completes the top three and he reported an engine issue after Stage 6 while the rear left window of his i20 was missing in the same stage. However, he said to his interview after Stage 7 that his car was low in boost and generally it lacked power.


Elfyn Evans is still fourth and he did not manage to overtake Tanak in the overall classification after the problems the last one faced in the evening loop.


Kalle Rovanpera completes the top five and he will try to chase Evans for the fourth position as their margin is at eight tenths of a second.


Sebastien Ogier remains in sixth position and he did not feel comfortable inside his Yaris in SS5 and in SS6 while he set the second best time in SS7.


Takamoto Katsuta comes right behind and he did not push to the limit, because he did not want to take any risk and to finish his race earlier.


Pierre-Louis Loubet is 2:50.0 seconds far from the leader Neuville and he faced the same problem as Tanak as the rear left window of his i20 was missing.


The Stage 8 was cancelled by the stewards due to safety issues.
