Meeke at Hyundai's list for 2023 driver line-up

The deputy team principal of Hyundai Motorsport, Julien Moncet, reveals that his team is examining the available drivers for next season and has already contacted with some of them hinting that Kris Meeke is included to this list.

The Nothern Irishman is currently testing and developing the brand-new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 and it will not be his first time in World Rally Championship if he secures a WRC drive with Hyundai in 2023 as he had been a Citroen and a Toyota driver in the past.

He has five wins and 13 podiums in World Rally Championship, but stayed out of WRC as his contract with Toyota expired at the end of 2019 and ever since he has never competed at the top level nor at WRC2 class.

"Somehow my mobile phone number is becoming more and more popular than ever", Moncet said.

"For sure, we are already having talks with many drivers to know what is going on, and everyone does that.

"We are already in touch with many drivers.

"We are considering everything and we haven’t decided yet.

"We have a pretty good idea.

"Kris Meeke is on the list of drivers that we are looking at.

"Whether he is at the top or the middle or bottom of the list, this is my problem".
