Ogier escapes penalty after breaking hybrid rules in Monte Carlo

Sebastien Ogier will not receive a penalty for hybrid rules breach despite he broke the rules at ceremonial start of Rallye Monte Carlo.

The French driver arrived at the start ramp and after having left from it he used the internal combustion engine in a HEV zone.

According to the new rules, this is not permitted as the drivers can only use hybrid power around the Service Park and to the road sections.

Ogier sumouned to the stewards after this infringement and he stated that he left late from the ceremonial start, so he would arrive late at the start of Stage 1.

Despite this breach, the stewards decided not give further action to this incident under the circumstances.
