Latvala considering of a Finland outing before he is 40

The team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing, Jari-Matti Latvala, admits that he wants to compete in Rally Finland again before he is 40 years old and to get a taste of the new generation Rally1 cars.

Τhe former WRC driver had 17 starts in his home event from which he claimed only three wins while the last time he won there was back in 2015 with a Volkswagen Polo R WRC.

Totally, Latvala has 209 starts in World Rally Championship and holds the record with the most WRC appearances.

"This is something I have been thinking to for a while, but Rally Finland and Lahti did make me think more", Latvala said.

"I want one more go, at the latest before I’m 40 – this gives me some time to make it happen.

"Also, right now, I am competing in 209 rounds of the world championship, it would be nice to make that number 210!”

"To experience the new generation cars in a place like Finland would be something special and now I have a few years to sort it out.

"If I can do this before I am 40, then maybe they will help me to come back again when I am 50!"
