Ogier proud of what Toyota achieved in Monte Carlo

Sebastien Ogier is being proud of the result that Toyota achieved last weekend and admits that his winning at Rallye Monte Carlo is a very special feeling for him while he praises the job of Vincent Landais.

The Frenchman dominated throughout last weekend as he set the fastest time in nine stages and finished ahead of his teammate Kalle Rovanpera by 18,8 seconds. In addition to that, he became the WRC driver with the most victories in Monte Carlo passing the nine-time World Rally Champion Sebastien Loeb. Each one of them had eight wins in this iconic event before the start of the 2023 season. But the most spectacular fact is that he won alongside Vincent Landais who has been navigating him for only two rallies.

"It has been a perfect weekend", Ogier said.

"This rally means a lot to me and to win it is always something very special, so I’m going to really enjoy it.

"I think I can be proud of myself and proud of my team.

"It’s been quite a dominant weekend for the team.

"Toyota once again provided us with fantastic tools so thanks to them.

"It’s an amazing way to launch the season with a one-two finish and it was a strong performance from Kalle as well.

"Saturday was hard for my nerves; I knew I could go faster but I didn’t want to take risks at all.

"On Sunday, I knew it was more about pure driving and could enjoy the end of the rally.

"I’m so happy for Vincent as well.

"It’s his first WRC win and he deserves it so much; he has done a perfect job to my right-hand side in only our second rally together".
