M-Sport Ford reveals Loubet's issue in Powerstage

The team principal of M-Sport Ford, Richard Millener, unveils the problem that Pierre-Louis Loubet faced with his Puma on the final stage of Rally Sweden while he believes that this was a great way to advert World Rally Championship.

The Corsican driver finished in sixth place overall at Rally Sweden, but he lost over one minute in Powerstage as his Puma carried a technical issue and he had to drive on EV mode. According to Millener, this problem was related to powertrain and M-Sport mechanics will investigate it further when the car arrives at the factory in Cumbria. Last but not least, it must be mentioned that Loubet stated at the end of Stage 7 that he had no hybrid power which means that he could not be at full speed in that stage.

"Unfortunately, it looked like they had some kind of powertrain issue which we need to investigate", Millener said.

"But the important thing is he has got to the end of the event which is great for him.

"I think it was a good showcase of EV.

"Honestly, we would not have been able to finish the stage previously, so it’s a great example of how we are moving the championship forward.

"But obviously not the way we wanted to finish, but I think it was important for Pierre to have a strong weekend on a surface he is not overly confident on.

"And now we go into the more normal kind of events, gravel and Tarmac events that we expect him to be stronger on.

"It’s great for him to get this weekend out of the way".
