Mikkelsen to decide his remaining events for 2023 in the upcoming two weeks

Andreas Mikkelsen is being happy with his victory at Rally Italia Sardegna and reveals that a decision on his campaign for the rest of 2023 will be made in two weeks.

The Norwegian driver secured a WRC2 programme with Toksport and Skoda Motorsport very late this season and started his title charge from Rally de Portugal where he finished third overall as he suffered from a puncture and generally he wanted time to adapt to the brand-new Skoda Fabia RS Rally2. In Italy, the journalists announced his first victory of the season at the end of Powerstage as Adrien Fourmaux went off the road on the final stage of the rally and lost his chance to put M-Sport at the highest place of the podium. As the entry list of Safari Rally was published earlier this month and was not his name in the list, six rallies are remaining for him to choose which are Estonia, Finland, Greece, Chile, Central Europe and Japan.

"I was glad to get through the event in Sardinia", Mikkelsen said.

"That final stage was a little bit crazy with all the aquaplaning in the mud and the rain.

"It was a tough one.

"I was happy with the weekend, our approach was quite sensible.

"In these conditions to push to the maximum all the time, something happens.

"I think we went with the correct strategy and in the end it proved to be enough for a win.

"Let’s see what will be out next event.

"I have to sit down with my partners after Sardinia – that was the plan: we do these two events and then we have a sit down and see what we do next.

"Hopefully in a week or two I know what the next event will be".
