Rally Japan - Shakedown: Neuville outpaces the Toyota quartetto, Tanak 9th

At the end of the Shakedown session of Rally Japan, Thierry Neuville tops the SD times with Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta following him.

Thierry Neuville is at the top of the Shakedown times as he was the quickest driver on his third pass from Kuragaike Park.

Elfyn Evans is in second place overall and is the leading Toyota driver as he left his teammates behind.

Takamoto Katsuta and Sebastien Ogier set an identical time in SD which put them third overall, but the local hero was faster than the last one for some thousandths of a second and completes the top three. Their time was for two tenths of a second slower than Evans' time.

Kalle Rovanpera completes the top five and was slower than Katsuta and Ogier for only one tenth of a second.

Esapekka Lappi follows his compatriot for two tenths of a second and struggled to find pace with his i20N on tarmac.

Dani Sordo and Adrien Fourmaux were the seventh-fastest drivers in Shakedown as they set an identical time, but the Spaniard was faster for some thousandths of a second and is seventh overall.

Fourmaux is only eight overall on his Rally1 return with M-Sport Ford and is the only WRC driver who ran five times from that stage.

Ott Tanak comes right behind his teammate for 0,2 seconds and is the final WRC driver on the classification.
