Toyota does not exclude the possibility of running Ogier and Rovanpera in the same event

The team principal of Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT, Jari-Matti Latvala, says that there is the possibility for Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanpera to compete in the same event next year and that his team is excited that there will be a fourth car available for a customer.

Toyota announced earlier this week that Elfyn Evans and Takamoto Katsuta will have a full-season programme in 2024 whereas Sebastien Ogier and Kalle Rovanpera will take part in selected number of events, but the entries of multiple WRC Champions may coincide during next year. The Finn driver decided to step back as he wants to make some outings in other series, such as drifting, and to take a break mentally and physically as he has been competing in rallying for 15 years and he is only 23 years old. However, the decision on bringing three cars opens the road to privateers to rent the fourth Yaris in some rallies in 2024, such as it happened with Lorenzo Bertelli at Rally Sweden nine months ago.

"There might be even some rally where we have four cars driving", Latvala said.

"So it’s even a possibility that Kalle and Séb will be in the same event, even though they are splitting the season.

"And if that is happening, we can also see a customer car there.

"We have been speaking with some of the customers and there’s a lot of interest for our car.

"In the ’23 season, we have had customers, so now it’s something what we are also excited to say that we have a car available for drivers to experience Rally1 in the World Rally Championship".
