Silly Season: Toksport to take over Toyota's WRC2 team in 2024?

Toksport and Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT may cooperate for the first time in World Rally Championship as the Japanese team does not want to run as a manufacturer in WRC2 class.

It is rumored that Skoda Motorsport is thinking of returning to WRC2 class as a factory team in 2024 which means that the private team, Toksport, will not be able to run Fabias anymore at the WRC support category. On the other hand, Toyota wants to focus on the main category of World Rally Championship and to provide the new GR Yaris Rally2 car only to customers. Toksport's driver, Sami Pajari, tested the Toyota Rally2 car in Alps last week and drove it as 'zero car' at Rallye du Dévoluy while Stephane Lefebvre and Pierre-Louis Loubet also gave to Toyota mechanics valuable feedback before the start of the new season.
