FIA considers to change the date of Rally Saudi Arabia in near future

The FIA deputy president, Malcolm Wilson, says that the Federation will listen to the feedback from the WRC teams and the drivers and may put Rally Saudi Arabia in the middle of the year in near future.

World Rally Championship has visited Saudi Arabia for the first time a week ago where Thierry Neuville becoming the first WRC driver who scored a victory there. The itinerary included 17 stages and 312,26 competitive kilometers in distance. However, all the WRC drivers got punctures which made their efforts even more difficult, especially Elfyn Evans's, Sebastien Ogier's and Kalle Rovanpera's race as the Toyota trio were fighting for the 2025 WRC title. Saudi Arabia will host the final round of next year's championship, but it is very likely for FIA to moving this event from November to July or August, just how happened with Rally Japan which will be held in July instead of November.

"There is lots of things you can look at, it is the first time the event has run and we will get a lot of feedback from everybody and obviously we will listen", the FIA deputy president, Malcolm Wilson said.

"Personally, I think it is what rallying is all about and we have seen a great story unfold.

"Maybe, and we need to look, it could be an event we could put in the middle of the year, it would be difficult with the temperatures in July or August, it is something we can look at.

"But I think if you look at the event as a whole for the first time it has certainly created some talking points.

"From what I have seen I think the event has done a really good job and it has not been easy for them.

"I didn’t have any doubts that they wouldn’t put on a good event to be honest".
