M-Sport Ford is still in discussions with Sesks for 2026

The team principal of M-Sport Ford, Richard Millener, reveals that his team is still in talks with Martins Sesks for the new WRC season despite the fact that he stayed without a Puma seat for 2026.

M-Sport Ford announced that Josh McErlean and Jon Armstrong will be the drivers of the British team in 2026 which means that Sesks lost his chance to secure his first ever full-season programme in World Rally Championship. The young Latvian driver agreed for a six-rally programme before the start of the 2025 WRC season, while the team extended his programme by adding Rally Saudi Arabia to his partial campaign. However, Millener has left open to door as Sesks may secure another partial campaign with M-Sport Ford in 2026. Finally, it must be mentioned that he was the only driver of M-Sport Ford who was fighting for a rally victory during the 2025 WRC season.

"It is not a pick and choose exercise and just because Martins did well in Saudi we have got the budget to put him in for a year. People are dreaming a bit there", Millener said.

"We are still in negotiations with him for sure and we would like to see him in the team.

"He won’t be in Monte Carlo, but we are working to try and see what we can do.

"There are still ongoing discussions, so it is not dead".
