For the second year in a row, Rallye Team Spain is backing the WRC2 project of Alejandro Cachón and Borja Rozada, who will compete with Toyota Gazoo Racing Spain in a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 prepared by MSi Racing Team (formerly Teo Martín Motorsport).
Cachón, the young Asturian driver who scored a major victory last November at the Rallye de Japón, giving Rallye Team Spain its second win in WRC2, will continue to represent the RFEDA’s young driver program throughout a season that promises to be very important for his career progression.
This year he will begin his second international campaign with Toyota at the 73rd Rallye of Sweden, a snow event that will be new to him and a crucial start before launching a full assault on the WRC2 championship. As one of Toyota Gazoo Racing’s key contenders in the series, Cachón is widely expected to fight at the front of the field.
The project continues with Repsol returning as a sponsor, strengthening the team’s position in the World Rally Championship’s competitive WRC2 category.
