Ogier keeps WRC future shrouded in mystery

Sébastien Ogier continues to keep his long-term future in the FIA World Rally Championship under wraps, despite remaining one of the sport’s most competitive and successful drivers. The multiple-time world champion, who currently competes with a partial schedule for Toyota Gazoo Racing, has yet to confirm whether he plans to extend his rally career or gradually step away from full-time competition.

Even after achieving almost everything possible in the sport, Ogier still demonstrates the speed, consistency, and determination that made him one of the greatest drivers in WRC history. His recent performances prove that he can still challenge for victories against a younger generation of competitors, showing that his passion for rallying remains strong.

At the same time, the Frenchman has admitted that decisions about his future are becoming increasingly personal. Balancing family life, motivation, and the demands of top-level competition now plays a major role in how he approaches the next stage of his career. Rather than making long-term commitments, Ogier appears to prefer evaluating his options season by season.

Speculation surrounding his future continues to grow because of the impact he has had on the championship over the past decade. With multiple world titles and victories in some of the most iconic rallies in the world, Ogier’s legacy is already firmly established. Nevertheless, he seems determined to keep any final decision private for now, leaving fans and the rally community waiting to see what comes next for one of the sport’s modern legends.

"I want to give myself a little bit more time", Ogier said.

"I already said recently that, at the moment, I probably see that this could be the last one, but I still want a bit more time to think and make a decision.

"I want to focus and try to get the best out of this potentially final season with the Rally1 cars, and then we will see what the future brings".
