Hyundai's new Rally2 car to debut at Ypres Rally Belgium

Hyundai Motorsport announces that it will bring the brand-new i20 N R5 at the upcoming Ypres Rally Belgium, which will be held on 13-15 August.

Among the drivers who have tested this new version of the car are Ott Tanak, Craig Breen, Oliver Solberg and Jari Huttunen, but the Korean team is yet to confirm which drivers will drive this new car in Belgium.

This new car has been tested in all surfaces including tarmac, gravel and snow in countries such as Germany, Italy and Sweden.

Furthermore, in cooperation with FIA, Hyundai Motorsport will offer this new Rally2 car to champion regional drivers from five series (Africa, Asia-Pasific, CODASUR, Middle East and NACAM) who will choose in which event they will compete with this car in WRC2 category from 2023.

The title winners will be chosen based on the winning championships of 2022 and 2023 and they will compete in WRC in 2023 and in 2024 respectively.

This proposal will be named FIA Rally World Tour and has to do with not European drivers as they want to show the potential of other nationality's drivers and to give them the chance to compete in WRC.
