Ypres Rally Belgium - 2nd Day - 2nd Loop: Neuville remains first as Ogier fights back

At the end of the afternoon loop of the second day of Ypres Rally Belgium, Thierry Neuville remains in the top of the overall classification with Craig Breen and Elfyn Evans following.

Thierry Neuville is still leading his home event after Stage 16 setting the fastest time in SS15 and in SS16 and he increased his leading over the second position. Finally, he reported at the end of Stage 14 that he would change some settings to his i20 for Stage 16, the second pass of SS14.

Craig Breen remains in second position and he tried to catch Neuville, but eventually he was a little slower than his rival and their gap is at 10,1 seconds.

Elfyn Evans completes the top three despite the fact that he lost time in SS14 when he went a bit wide on the first corner of this stage. Also, he had a moment in a fast section of SS15 as the rear left rim had grass and that meant that he may have gonen off the road.

Kalle Rovanpera comes right behind him and he dropped some time in stages without knowing the reason for this loss. The gap between him and Evans is at 3,3 seconds.

Sebastien Ogier is fifth and he managed to decrease his gap from his teammates as he was the fastest driver in SS13 and SS15. His gap from Evans and Rovanpera is 7 seconds and 3,7 seconds respectively.

Ott Tanak is in sixth position and he was happier with his performance in this loop in comparison with the morning loop of Saturday.

The intercom problem Gus Greensmith faced in the morning loop of Saturday was fixed by the mechanics of M-Sport, but he completed Stage 16 in road mode as he could not enable the stage mode.

About the tyre choices, all the WRC drivers have chosen 6 hard compounds for this afternoon loop.
