How will Ogier become 2021 WRC Champion in Finland?

The 2021 World Rally Championship comes to an end as three rounds remaining to this season's finale [Rally Finland, Rally Spain and Rally Monza].

Sebastien Ogier is currently leading the driver's championship and he is closest to clinch his eight title in WRC.

More specifically, Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville are 44 and 50 points respectively behind Ogier in 2021 Championship while Kalle Rovanpera is 51 points far from the leader.

Ott Tanak is fifth overall with 106 points and his margin from Ogier is 74 points.

The following drivers in the overall classification after Tanak are far behind from the first position, so they are not able to fight for the championship.

But let's take a look how Ogier may become the 2021 Champion in this week's Rally Finland and what his main rivals must do to keep their fight on:

  • The French driver must score 16 points more than Evans

  • Neuville must not score 10 points less than Ogier

  • Ogier must score 9 points more than Rovanpera

  • Tanak has to score 14 points more than Ogier to keep fighting for this year's title
