Robert Virves roars into WRC2 2026 with Toksport and Skoda Motorsport

Robert Virves will continue his partnership with Toksport and Skoda Motorsport for one more season starting from Safari Rally.

Robert Virves is a talented young rally driver from Estonia who continues to make a name for himself in the FIA World Rally Championship 2 (WRC2) category. After a promising junior career—highlighted by winning the 2022 FIA Junior World Rally Championship—Virves stepped up into the highly competitive WRC2 class, where rally cars are powerful, challenging, and require both speed and consistency.

In the 2025 WRC2 season, Virves showed strong pace and determination. He scored his first-ever WRC2 victory at the Rally Estonia, driving a Å koda Fabia RS Rally2 for the Toksport WRT team, dominating special stages in front of his home fans. He also added other solid results, including a podium in Rally Finland and competitive performances in South America.

For the 2026 season, Virves has extended his partnership with Toksport WRT and will again compete in the WRC2 championship behind the wheel of the Å koda Fabia RS Rally2. His program consists of an eight‑round schedule, beginning with gravel‑heavy events such as the Safari Rally Kenya, as he aims to challenge for the overall title in the WRC2 class.

At 25 years old, Virves combines raw speed with the experience he has gained from racing on a variety of surfaces. Although he will miss a few early events like Monte‑Carlo and Rally Sweden, his focus on rallies where he feels strongest shows his tactical approach to scoring maximum points. With a strong car, a skilled co‑driver in Jakko Viilo, and growing confidence, Virves is considered one of the rising talents in the world rally scene.
