How will Ogier become 2021 WRC Champion in Spain?

The 2021 World Rally Championship comes to an end as two rounds remaing until the season finale [Rally Spain, Rally Monza] and Sebastien Ogier is close to clinch his eighth title in WRC. But how can he become 2021 World Rally Driver Champion in this weekend's Rally Spain?

To begin with, Ott Tanak, Kalle Rovanpera and Thierry Neuville are out of the competition for this year's championship after the end of Rally Finland with the last two drivers scoring zero points in that event.

Tanak was far behind Ogier in driver's championship before the start of Rally Finland and despite the second position there he did not score 14 points more than Ogier to continue fighting for the title.

Therefore it remains only one contender who can fight against Ogier for this year's title and this is Elfyn Evans who scored the maximum points in Finland and he decreased his gap from 44 to 24 points.

What Evans must do in Spain is to score six points more than Ogier with the intention of his continuing fighting for the title at Rally Monza where the driver's championship will be determined at the season finale.
