Sébastien Ogier has added another remarkable chapter to his already extraordinary World Rally Championship career, matching two all-time records following his runner-up finish at Rally Chile.
The nine-time world champion has now reached 213 WRC starts, drawing level with former Toyota team-mate Jari-Matti Latvala at the top of the all-time list. Ogier is set to take sole possession of the record when he competes at Rally Italia Sardegna in October.
Ogier's numbers become even more impressive when his results are compared with Latvala's. Across their 213 events, Ogier has collected 69 victories and 120 podium finishes, while Latvala recorded 18 wins and 67 podiums. Ogier has also secured nine drivers' championships during his career, compared with none for the Finn.
Chile also saw Ogier equal another legendary record. His second-place finish gave him the 120th podium of his WRC career, putting him level with fellow Frenchman Sébastien Loeb.
Loeb reached his 120 podiums in just 184 starts, while Ogier has needed 213 rallies to reach the same milestone. However, Ogier has more second-place finishes, with 31 compared with Loeb's 29, while Loeb has 80 victories to Ogier's 69.
Ogier already holds another significant WRC record: he has contributed to more manufacturers' championship titles than any other driver. Toyota's latest manufacturers' crown in 2026 took his personal tally to 13 titles, earned with Citroën, Volkswagen, M-Sport Ford and Toyota.
With Rally Italia Sardegna now scheduled as the final round of the 2026 WRC season, Ogier has another opportunity to add to his remarkable record book. His pursuit of a potential 10th drivers' title may be fading, but his place among the most successful drivers in WRC history continues to grow.
