Loubet to skip the rest of 2021 WRC season due to hip injury

Pierre-Louis Loubet announced via his social media that he will not compete in the next events of WRC this season as he is being in recovery after an accident he had.

The French driver had a full programme this season with the private team 2C Competition driving an Hyundai i20 Coupe WRC in almost all the 2021 events except from Safari Rally Kenya and Rally Finland.

It was expected to participate in the upcoming WRC event in Spain, but he is forced not to continue his rookie season after being hit by a car.

Loubet broke his hip after this accident and he had to undergo a surgery, thus it will take some time to recover and to be fit again for being behind the wheel of a WRCar.

"There’s a little change for my end of season’s program: rehab instead of finishing the WRC season", Loubet wrote on social media.

"You’re going to tell me ‘Ohhh, bad luck’, but believe me, I’m really lucky to just have a broken hip after getting hit by a car.

"So yes, It was a tough year and a tough season for me.

"But what doesn’t kill you makes you stronger and I’m already looking forward to next year, so I can fight and express my potential behind the wheel".
