What Ogier and Evans must do in Monza to win the WRC title of 2021?

Sebastien Ogier and Elfyn Evans will fight for this year’s WRC title in Monza as they did last year again there.

However, the 2020 title fight was in Evans’s favor as he headed to Monza with a 14-point advantage, but eventually Ogier won the Championship as the first one had a spin in Stage 11 and eventually went off the road.

But this time, the 2021 title fight is in Ogier’s favor as he heads to Monza with a 17-point advantage over his Toyota teammate.

Sebastien Ogier (204 points)

If Ogier wins this season’s version of Rally Monza, then he will clinch his eighth title in WRC regardless of what Evans will do there. But if he does not win, then he must ensure that he will score 13 points more than Evans.

Below these are the results that Ogier should achieve to become 2021 WRC Champion regardless of what Evans does:

Elfyn Evans (187 points)

Evans is in second position on driver’s championship of 2021 with a 17-point disadvantage, so he must achieve a third position or above if he wants to be crowned the Driver World Rally Champion of this season for the first time in his WRC career.

Of course, to his becoming WRC Champion of 2021 depends on what Ogier will do in Monza, but generally Evans must score 18 points more than his title rival.

Below there are the results that Evans should achieve in Monza if he wants to have a chance to become the 2021 Champion of WRC:
