Hyundai Motorsport confirmed today that Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe had an accident during their test with the hybrid i20N in France with the last one having been injured.

The Korean team is in Alsace for a six-day test with its new car for 2022 and the test started last Sunday.

However, due to the heavy snow Hyundai announced two days ago that it was forced to postpone its test, but Ott Tanak and Oliver Solberg made it to complete their test.

Moreover, Tanak continued his test with Hyundai yesterday and today was Thierry Neuville's turn to spend time inside his new car and to prepare for the next season's Rallye Monte Carlo.

According to team's announcement, Neuville and his co-driver, Wydaeghe, went off the road in their test and in fact the last one was suffering from shoulder injury.

Finally, it was announced as well that the pair is okay, but both of them have been transferred to the hospital for further examination.

"Thierry Neuville and Martijn Wydaeghe went off the road while testing the i20 N Rally1 today", Hyundai states on its social media.

"Crew is safe and paramedics arrived on site quickly to treat Martijn’s shoulder injury.

"The crew is on their way to the hospital for further evaluation".
