Ogier's first impression with the 2022 Rally1 car of Toyota

Sebastien Ogier is talking about his first test with the Toyota Yaris GR admitting that the drivers must adapt to many parameters with the hybrid systems and the increased power.

The eighth-time World Rally Champion completed his two-day test with the hybrid Yaris in France last weekend and it was his first time behind the wheel of this new car as his tests postponed last month due to Elfyn Evans's crash.

Ogier will have a partial program with Toyota next season and his program will start with Rallye Monte Carlo while it is yet to confirm in which other events he will take part in.

"This new technology is, of course, a bit of a challenge for the teams and it’s going to be a challenge for the drivers – it’s different", Ogier said.

"But the first test was positive for me.

"My first impression was positive.

"The car is reacting differently to what we have been used to for the last five years.

"There are new parameters for us to get used to: we have to adapt to the regeneration and then how we use the electric boost.

"This is something exciting for us as drivers, it’s something new and when you have something new like this it always raises the expectation for the season.

"Everybody likes power, the drivers are always wanting power and this is very nice when it all comes".
