Breen comfortable with Ford Puma Rally1 car

Craig Breen hints that he is feeling comfortable inside his new car admitting that this is the first time in his career that a car has been developed like he would want.

The Irish driver joined M-Sport Ford immediately after the end of Rally Finland where he competed with Hyundai Motorsport and he signed a two-year contract with the British team.

He started testing the Ford Puma Rally1 car in Spain last month and he spent plenty of time inside in his new car in comparison with the other drivers who were competing in all WRC events this year.

Finally, it must be mentioned that Breen will be the #1 driver for a team for the first time in his WRC career and it is expected to spend more time inside the Puma this month as he will test it for next year's Rallye Monte Carlo.

"When I’m driving the car now everything is feeling like second nature – it’s all coming very naturally and that’s exactly what I hoped it would be like", Breen said.

"When we get to Monte Carlo, it’s going to be so important to have had time in the car and a real understanding of how it works and how to get the best out of it.

"I think we’re in that position now.

"All of my career I’ve driven cars which have been led in one particular direction.

"I don’t want to say I’ve had hand-me-downs, but the drivers ahead of me have decided what the car needs and how to get it.

"To now be that person who’s having a car moulded around them is really special.

"The team has been fantastic.

"They’ve made me and Paul so welcome.

"They’ve come to the tests with so many ideas and so many options for the car and that’s exactly what I’d hoped for.

"Honestly, this feels like our car now".
