Official: Suninen and Zaldivar seal a WRC2 program with Hyundai for 2022

Hyundai Motorsport announced today the two drivers with whom will compete in WRC2 class this year.

More specifically, Teemu Suninen secured his seat in WRC2 class and will drive a Hyundai i20N Rally2 this year.

The Finn driver took part in Spain and in Monza with the i20N Rally2 and with the i20 Coupe WRC respectively last year as he replaced Oliver Solberg and Ott Tanak in these two events.

Fabrizio Zaldivar will be Suninen's teammate this season as he joined Hyundai's program, the Customer Racing Junior Drivers, a week ago.

Both drivers will start their WRC2 program with Rally Portugal which will be held on May 19-22.

"I am very excited to team up with Hyundai Motorsport again and contend a full WRC2 season with the Hyundai i20 N Rally2", Suninen said.

"For me, the opportunity to take part in regular testing and play a role in the development of the car was the reason why this was an attractive offer for this year".

On the other side, Zaldivar stated: "Joining a manufacturer and having access to a wealth of support and experience is every driver’s dream.

"My goal is to perform consistently in every rally and create a forward momentum that will see me improve throughout the season".
