Hyundai heading to Croatia with a refreshed philosophy

The deputy team principal of Hyundai Motorsport, Julien Moncet, says that the two-month season break helped his team to improve and to regroup after the difficult start it had this year.

According to Moncet's sayings to DirtFish, Hyundai mechanics worked on kinematics, chassis set-up and on adapting the hybrid maps and the engine maps to the i20N Rally1.

Hyundai Motorsport is currently in third position on manufacturer's championship and is heading to Rally Croatia with a 36-point disadvantage over the first Toyota.

"The two-month break since Rally Sweden has been helpful", Moncet said.

"It has given us the time to regroup and reset before we begin the next phase of the season.

"The podium finish we secured with Thierry and Martijn at the previous round was a positive step forward for us as we continue to get to grips with the new hybrid regulations.

"We made some good progress in terms of set-up and car behaviour from what we had in Monte Carlo, I think all the drivers could notice improvements at the pre-event test.

"Will it be enough to catch up to the others?

"We have to wait and see".
