Breen confident ahead of Rally de Portugal after his gravel test

Craig Breen is feeling confident for this month's Rally de Portugal after his latest test on gravel with the Ford Puma Rally1 and thinks that he is well-prepared for this event.

The last time that Breen took part in Portugal was back in 2018 when he was driving for Citroen Racing and had Scott Martin as his co-driver.

Breen tested the Ford Puma Rally1 on gravel in Spain and at M-Sport's private site in Greystoke in 2021 and in 2022 respectively, while he completed his test in Portugal on Sunday 1st May.

"We’ve done a good bit in the gravel car", Breen said.

"We’ve done a couple of proper days in Spain last year and then there’s been a day or two in  Greystoke and the pre-event.

"From that side, I think we’re well prepared.

"We have a good idea of what to expect from the car on the loose – I’m looking forward to it.”

"I haven’t done Portugal since 2018.

"I’ve done two of the events in Porto.

"I did the recce last year, so I know most of the stages – but it’s not quite the same as competing.

"It’s always a good event and it’s good to be getting going with the season now.

"The break between Sweden and Croatia was a bit long, I’m looking forward to getting to some events now.

"There were some positives and negatives last time in Croatia, I didn’t quite feel the confidence to go absolutely flat.

"Hopefully we can put that right in Portugal".
