Esapekka Lappi and Elfyn Evans are talking about Kalle Rovanpera's dominance this year and they disagree with each other for the fact that the last one is unbeatable.
Rovanpera is leading the drivers' championship of 2022 with a 83-point gap over the second Thierry Neuville and has won five events so far.
However, the most remarkable thing is that he won in Kenya, Estonia and Portugal despite the fact that he was opening the road on Friday in these gravel events.
Last but not least, he has scored the maximum points in Croatia, Portugal and Estonia as he was the fastest driver in Powerstage and took the five bonus points from that stage.
"I don’t know, I cannot explain that", Lappi said.
"I don’t have words for him.
"I think Elfyn needs to accept it as well, that Kalle starts to be unbeatable.
"And that’s it.
"I believe he already accepted it.
"But if he doesn’t do it, for sure he’s f***ed".
On the other hand, Elfyn Evans said: "It’s impressive but it’s not unbeatable.
"We know how strong he was last year.
"To be fair, when you compare me and him this year, it’s a hell of a lot closer.
"From our side we’ve taken a step forward in Estonia.
"We’ll see for the rallies to come.
"It seems he is performing well everywhere now.
"We’ve seen Kalle’s form now, the highs he’s carried from rally to rally and continued to grow with that.
"Now he’s in a position whereby it’s almost that he has that much of a lead that he has nothing to lose, you know.
"It’s impressive nonetheless what he’s been doing".
