Official: Toyota confirms Ogier and Veillas for the three remaining rallies of 2022

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT announced today that Sebastien Ogier and Benjamin Veillas will compete in the last three rounds of this year's World Rally Championship.

Sebastien Ogier and Esapekka Lappi are sharing the third Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 since the start of this season as the first one wanted to take part in a limited number of rallies in 2022.

So far, the Frenchman participated in three events (Rallye Monte Carlo, Rally Portugal, Safari Rally Kenya) while it became clear that he will make his fourth outing at Rally New Zealand as he wanted to return there and to finish the job (remember that he finished second overall in 2010 as Jari-Matti Latvala was the winner that year).

Since he quitted his WEC programme for this year, he does not have so many racing responsibilities, therefore he decided to compete in Spain and Japan as well. His participations in the last three rallies of 2022 means that Lappi's season is over despite the fact that the Finn had three podium finishes.

"As you know I'm very excited to go to New Zealand, but the news is I will compete Rally Spain and Japan, the last three events of the championship, so I'm really excited for this new challenge", Ogier said.
