Rally Mexico - 3rd Day - 2nd Loop: Evans/Neuville battle tightens as Ogier still on top

At the end of Saturday afternoon, Sebastien Ogier is still leading Rally Mexico with Elfyn Evans and Thierry Neuville following him.

Sebastien Ogier remains out in front and was managing his gap over his rivals, but the most noteworthy thing is that he was the fastest driver by 8,1 seconds in Stage 16.

Elfyn Evans is still second overall, but his place is under threat by Thierry Neuville who is behind him for 4,3 seconds.

The Belgian driver set the fastest time in Stage 17 and managed to be quicker than Evans in all afternoon stages.

Kalle Rovanpera is in fourth place overall and dropped 15,6 seconds in SS16 as he had a spin in a narrow place. However, he lost time there due to the fact that he was stuck between the barriers and had to reverse many times.

Dani Sordo completes the top five and complained about the fact that his car was moving a lot.

Ott Tanak managed to gain some places back and to get closed to the top ten. Moreover, he was the fastest driver in Stage 18 despite the fact that he still is not happy with his Puma on gravel.

Takamoto Katsuta remains outside the top ten and had a moment in Stage 18 as he clipped a rock resulting in having a light damage to the front bumper.

Pierre-Louis Loubet was forced to retire again as he stopped 10,1Km into SS17 after overcooking a junction and hitting a rock which has damaged something at the rear-right of his car. He and Nicolas Gilsoul pulled over on an access road and made some repairs, but despite their efforts to fix their car they headed back to the Service Park.

Stage 15 was cancelled by the organizers after Esapekka Lappi's crash on the first pass from Ibarrilla.
