Greensmith has been taken to the hospital after his crash in Sardinia

Gus Greensmith has been tranferred to the hospital in Olbia for further check ups following his high-speed accident in Stage 6 of Rally Italia Sardegna.

The Britishman was in sixth place overall in WRC2 class before the start of the second loop in Monte Lerno, but he went off the road resulting in retiring while the stage was immediately red-flagged by the stewards. His co-driver, Jonas Andersson, is unharmed, but Greensmith will remain in the hospital this night as a precuation.

The former M-Sport Ford driver chose to compete in the sixth WRC round with the view of building his confidence and his experience and was not among the nominated drivers which means that he would not score points for the championship.
