Rally Estonia - 2nd Day - 1st Loop: Neuville storms into the lead as Tanak is at full-attack mode



At the end of the morning loop of Friday, Thierry Neuville is the new leader of Rally Estonia with Kalle Rovanpera and Elfyn Evans following him.

Thierry Neuville claimed the lead of Rally Estonia at the end of Stage 2 and since then he managed to extend his advantage over his rivals. After the end of the superspecial stage on Thursday, he was fourth overall, therefore he gained three places on Friday morning.

Kalle Rovanpera is second overall despite the fact that he started first on the road and had to clean the stages for the following drivers.

Elfyn Evans completes the 2-3 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and arrived at the stop line of SS4 with a cosmetic damage on the front bumper. Finally, it must be mentioned that the Welshman said at the end of SS4 that he was struggling with his Yaris.

Esapekka Lappi dropped from first to third overall at the end of Stage 2 as he lost the hybrid after a jump on the opening stage of Friday. In addition to that, he lost his third place from Evans at the end of Stage 3 as he started 4-minute late in the stage due to the fact that the hybird issues of his i20N continued. He managed to keep Evans behind for nine tenths of a second after SS2, but their gap is now at 1,3 seconds.

Teemu Suninen gained one place after SS2 and is now in fifth place overall while his margin from his teammate is at 5,3 seconds.

Takamoto Katsuta dropped from fifth to sixth overall after SS2 while he overshot a junction after braking too late in Stage 3.

Pierre-Louis Loubet remains in seventh place overall and is trying to find confidence with his Puma which had a cosmetic damage to the front right after touching a concrete in Stage 2.

Ott Tanak is outside the top 20 and managed to set the fastest time in all stages as his target is to catch Oliver Solberg on the classification.
