Rally Finland - 1st Day: Less than a second separates the top three with Tanak in front

At the end of the superspecial stage on Thursday, Ott Tanak is leading Rally Finland with Thierry Neuville and Kalle Rovanpera following him.

Ott Tanak is leading Rally Finland at the end of Stage 1, as he was the fastest driver in Harju, and left his former teammate Thierry Neuville behind for 0,6 seconds.

Kalle Rovanpera completes the top three and was very lucky as he hit a kerb with the right rear tyre, but thankfully he did not pick up a puncture.

Esapekka Lappi follows the championship leader for 1,1 seconds and it must be mentioned that EP is currently the latest Finn winner of Rally Finland.

One tenth of a second separates Elfyn Evans from the fourth Lappi, but the Welshman may lose time on Friday as he will start second on the road tomorrow.

Pierre-Louis Loubet is in sixth place overall and will give another fight with Takamoto Katsuta as the Japanese is nine tenths of a second behind PL.

Teemu Suninen, Jari-Matti Latvala and Jari Huttunen complete the top ten.
