Tanak thinks impossible to repeat last year's success in Finland

Ott Tanak strongly believes that it is not possible for him to win Rally Finland for a second year in a row considering the strong pace of Toyota and Hyundai.

The 2019 WRC Champion broke Hyundai's curse in Finland last year as he became the first Hyundai driver who won this fast gravel WRC round. However, he has stated many times this season that Puma is less competitive than i20N and Yaris and that M-Sport Ford should make further improvements to close the gap with its rivals. In fact, he said at the end of Safari Rally that his team must find extra speed for Rally Estonia and Rally Finland hinting that Puma is not the fastest car on the championship. Despite the fact that he won six stages in Estonia, Tanak remains down-on-earth as he is aware that it will be difficult for him to be victorious Rally Finland for a fourth time in his WRC career.

"Last year the case was very much different because it was the first time for these cars and it was a lot to discover", Tanak said.

"This year obviously I’m sure Hyundai has strengthened the weak points they had last year and so too Toyota, so they know very much where they are going this year.

"So I’m pretty sure it’s going to be a completely different story".
