Evans to miss the FIA's prize giving due to a bike accident

Elfyn Evans says that he will not attend the FIA's prize giving event in Baku tonight as he had a bike accident some days ago.

The Welshman had a bike accident some days ago resulting in injuring his ribs, therefore his doctors advised him not to fly to Baku for the FIA's prize giving event which will be held tonight. Evans's training includes mountain biking as it can be noticed by his Instragram stories and posts. However, the positive thing is that the accident happened after the end of the WRC season and before the start of next year's Rallye Monte Carlo, which means that he can rest and recover before his getting behind the wheel of the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1, and is not a serious one. It is expected that Ott Tanak and Thierry Neuville will fight hard with the Toyota driver, Evans, for the WRC title bid in 2024, thus the last one has more than one month to get back to his fitness.

"I am sorry I cannot attend the FIA prize giving in Baku tonight and celebrate the end of the 2023 season", Evans said.

"Unfortunately, I came off a bike some days ago and injured my ribs and have been advised not to fly.

"I hope everyone has a good night especially my TGR teammates who are collecting quite a few awards tonight".
