Toyota to introduce a new suspension system to Yaris in Kenya

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT will bring an updated suspension system to the GR Yaris Rally1 at Safari Rally Kenya which will be held on March 27-31.

Toyota aims to score its first victory of the season in Kenya next week and to repeat its great performance there as Hyundai has taken two wins in a row making a good start in 2024. The Japanese team will field some changes to the suspension system at Safari Rally in order to increase the performance and the reliability of the Yaris Rally1. The new suspension system is related to the upgrade of ten components while Toyota had previously brought an engine upgrade to the Yaris at Rallye Monte Carlo two months ago meaning that the team is trying very hard to stay competitive against its rivals.

Safari Rally of Kenya starts with the Shakedown session on Wednesday 27 March while the real rally action will begin on Friday as a superspecial stage will take place on Thursday in Kasarani.

"It’s difficult to make significant changes to the car for this one event, but we are introducing a general update for the suspension", Jari-Matti Latvala said on Toyota's pre-event press release for Safari Rally.
