Croatia Rally - 1st Day - 2nd Loop: Neuville and Evans share the 1st place, Ogier reels in

At the end of Friday afternoon, Croatia Rally has two rally leaders as Thierry Neuville and Elfyn Evans share the first place while Sebastien Ogier will fight for the lead tomorrow.

Thierry Neuville and Elfyn Evans have a joint lead at the end of Friday, but the Belgian is first due to the fact that he has won an event this year and is currently the championship leader. In fact, Neuville clipped a rock after five kilometers into Stage 6 resulting in his tyre being off the rim and his gap being reduced from 10,1 to 0,1 seconds. Last but not least, he was the fastest driver on the second pass from Platak.
Evans is the leading Toyota driver and will give a battle with two rivals to get a comfortable lead in Croatia while he set the fastest time in Stage 6. Moreover, he stole the lead from Neuville at the end of Stage 7 and was 1,6 seconds ahead of the last one despite the fact that he completed that stage with a tyre off the rim on the back.

Sebastien Ogier follows the leading duo for 6,6 seconds after his setting the benchmark on the final two stages of the day.

Ott Tanak remains fourth overall and said at the end of SS that he faced some issues with the rear tyres which were related to the temperature.

Adrien Fourmaux completes the top five and did some changes to the set-up of his Puma as his teammate did in the morning.

Takamoto Katsuta overtook Andreas Mikkelsen on the classification and is now sixth as the Norwegian was struggling with his i20N.

Gregoire Munster is still in eighth place and cut Mikkelsen's advantage to 29,5 seconds.
