Evans did not like his first contact with the 2025-spec Yaris

Elfyn Evans admits that he was not excited after his first run with the next year's GR Yaris Rally1 hinting an anger behind his words.

Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT scheduled a tarmac test for Elfyn Evans, Takamoto Katsuta and Sebastien Ogier in Croatia as a preparation for the fourth WRC round. Apart from the GR Yaris Rally1, the Japanese team brought the 2025-spec Yaris as well and its drivers had the chance to test it three weeks ago. The hybrid unit was removed from the current Yaris, but the most significant change was noticed on the rear as the mechanics introduced a new rear geometry including a redesigned bumper. So far, FIA has not announced more details on the new regulations which are about to be confirmed in June, but the WRC teams have started their preparations blindly for next season as they do not know the new rules yet.

"I can tell you that it was not so exciting", Evans said about the 2025-spec Yaris.

"I started and finished my run, so I guess if that is your definition of driveable, then I guess it was".
