The organizers of Rally Sweden announced today that their event will continue in World Rally Championship for three more years.
FIA, WRC Promoter and the organizers of Rally Sweden signed a new three-year deal in which Umea will keep its position as the central location of the rally until the end of 2027. Due to the lack of snow, the organizers of Rally Sweden were searching for a new location in 2020 and eventually concluded to Umea city which held a WRC round for a first time three years ago. Rally Sweden is the only winter rally of the championship and offers spectacular stages as the crews are passing throughtout snowy forests and snowbanks, but the most amazing views are coming from the helicopter broadcast when it shows the snowy stages in the morning. The latest winner of Rally Sweden wwas Esapekka Lappi with the Hyundai i20N Rally1 who returned back to the top of the podium after six and a half years breaking the record for the longest gap between wins in terms of time and number of rallies.
