Rally Latvia - 4th Day: Hat-trick for Rovanpera, Sesks down to 7th after a car issue

At the end of the final day of Rally Latvia, Kalle Rovanpera claims his second consecutive win in 2024 with Sebastien Ogier and Ott Tanak following him.

Kalle Rovanpera secures his third victory of the season and delivers the fifth win for Toyota in 2024 while he scored five points on SuperSunday standings as he was the third-fastest driver of the day.

Sebastien Ogier does the 1-2 for Toyota Gazoo Racing WRT and set the fastest time in SS17. He and Tanak shared the first place on SuperSunday standings after the end of SS19, but eventually the Frenchman was beaten by Tanak for 0,2 seconds in Powerstage and finished second on SuperSunday.

Ott Tanak completes the podium and climbed to third place at the end of Powerstage despitethe fact that he had a half spin there. He was the fastest driver in SS18, SS19 and SS20 which means that he topped the SuperSunday standings and the Powerstage times.

Adrien Fourmaux finished in fourth place as the top M-Sport Ford driver and lost some seconds in Stage 18 as he went wide on a fast left corner and had to slow down too much. However, he reported an issue with his Puma at the end of SS19 and was very afraid as he was looking on at the dashboard.

Elfyn Evans completes the top five and managed to finish ahead of Thierry Neuville on the SuperSunday standings, but he scored only one point in Powerstage.

Takamoto Katsuta finished sixth overall after his having lost three places on Saturday morning following his mistake in Stage 12 while he was slower for some thousandths of a second than Neuville in Powerstage.

Martins Sesks dropped from third to seventh position and lost the chance to secure his maiden WRC podium as he suffered from an issue with his Puma since the first corner of SS20. However, he did some mistakes today as he went wide in a junction in SS18 and missed a junction in SS19 while his gap from the fourth Tanak was at 4,6 seconds before the start of the Powerstage.

Thierry Neuville keeps his eighth position while he said at the end of SS17 that his i20N was not turning and was not accelerating on exits. Moreover, he finished just one second behind Sesks and scored only six points on Sunday.

Esapekka Lappi remained behind his teammate Neuville and was not able to match the pace of the frontrunners as he was starting second on the road today. However, he lost more than one minute in Stage 20 as the engine of his i20N was finished just 1 Km into SS20.

Gregoire Munster completes the top ten and went sideways in Stage 17 as he could not keep his car in the lines. In addition to that, he reported an issue with his Puma at the end of SS19, but he did not reveal which was the real problem.
