Hyundai confirms Tanak's and Jarveoja's retirement for the rest of Rally Finland

Hyundai Motorsport published a press release in which they confirm that Ott Tanak and Martin Jarveoja will not continue at Rally Finland after their crash in Stage 3.

More specifically, the Estonians went off the road after a corner and their i20N ended up hitting a tree in Stage 3 resulting in damaging heavily their i20N. Apart from that, both of them exited their i20N without receiving an assistance from the public while Jarjeova was transferred to the hospital by a helicopter. Tanak is unharmed, but Jarveoja has to stay for overnight observation by the doctors as reports suggested that he was injured in the back. As a consequence of that, they are not able to start under the SuperRally regulations on Saturday which means that they will score zero points at Rally Finland despite the fact that they managed to cut Thierry Neuville's and Martijn Wydaeghe's championship lead to eight points at the end of Rally Latvia.

"Both Tänak and Järveoja were quickly attended to by the medical team, with Järveoja taken to hospital by helicopter for further examination", Hyundai statement said.

"While both driver and co-driver are well, Järveoja will need to remain in hospital overnight for observation as a precaution".
