Oliver Solberg shares his first thoughts after the test he had with the Toyota GR Yaris Rally1 saying that a dream came true.
Hyundai Motorsport did not renew the Solberg's contract for 2023, therefore he has been competing in WRC2 class since then. However, the Swede driver switched from Skoda Fabia RS Rally2 to a Toyota GR Yaris Rally2 following the Sami Pajari's steps who secured his first full-season campaign with Toyota at the top level this year. Although the organizers of Rally Estonia have published the entry list of their event in which Solberg's name was not included, Toyota confirmed that the last one will compete with the GR Yaris Rally1 at the eighth WRC round.
"To be in Finland with the Toyota Rally 1 car, it’s first of all a dream come true", Solberg said.
"It’s the coolest thing I’ve done ever in my life and the most fun I’ve ever had in my life.
"So far it is fantastic and to drive such an incredible car, already feeling comfortable in the car and having good speed it’s just absolutely unbelievable.
"For sure, I feel a little bit nervous, you know, it’s fast, but the feeling is good and we’re learning step-by-step and that’s the main goal".
