Stellantis Group announced today that Lancia will launch a Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale for the Rally2 category.
Lancia had once written its name in motorsport history, dominating the World Rally Championship (WRC) with numerous titles decades ago. A few years back, the iconic Italian brand took its first steps back into rallying by entering the Rally4 category with the Ypsilon Rally4 HF Integrale. Legendary driver Miki Biasion even played a key role in developing the car.
Recently, rumors began circulating that Lancia might return to top-level rallying, possibly entering either the WRC or WRC2 with the Ypsilon. Today, those rumors were officially confirmed. The Stellantis Group has announced that Lancia is now eligible to compete in the WRC2 category with the newly developed Ypsilon Rally2 HF Integrale.
This news is both exciting and promising for rally fans around the world, as it could signal a full-scale return of Lancia to the top tier of the WRC in the near future.
