Thierry Neuville says that Hyundai is not moving in the right direction and does not know what improvements must be done in order to develop further the behavior of the i20N.
Hyundai was out of pace for one more event and finished at 5-6-7 with Thierry Neuville having been the worst driver for the Korean car brand as he was not able to recover after his time penalty and the mistake he made in Stage 3 where he lost the rear and went into a snowbank resulting in being stuck for more than one minute and dropping three places into the seventh. However, the Belgian was the only Hyundai driver who claimed a stage win at Rally Sweden. In fact, he was the fastest driver in three stages and managed to score the five bonus points at Powerstage. Generally, all the Hyundai drivers could not match the pace of Toyotas' and were stuggling with the balance of their car. More specifically, Neuville reported understeer with his i20N in two occassions whereas Adrien Fourmaux was experimenting with the dampers.
"We need to take all of our courage as a team to work hard and bring us back to where we belong", Neuville said.
"We are doing a lot, driving a lot, but somehow, we’re not moving in the right direction.
"I don’t know where the improvements need to be made – I made a lot of changes during the weekend and there was no difference.
"We basically had limited grip and a lot of understeer".
